A rocket was fired at a United States army base in Syria this week in an unsuccessful assault, Fresh News Digital has discovered.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A small explosion was reported on Tuesday outdoors the U.S. base at Mission Support Site Euphrates in Syria.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“On August 13, at approximately\u00a04:00 PM ET, a rocket attack was attempted\u00a0against U.S. and Coalition forces at Mission Support Site Euphrates in Syria,” a U.S. protection official advised Fresh News Digital.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The assault on the bottom was reportedly unsuccessful, with no rockets making direct impression.<\/p>\n

The official advised Fresh News Digital, “U.S. forces\u00a0immediately responded in self-defense, returning indirect fire against the\u00a0attackers. Our forces retain the inherent right to self-defense and we will not hesitate to take action to protect ourselves whenever necessary.”<\/p>\n

No accidents to service members or injury to the bottom have been reported, a U.S. protection official tells Fresh News.<\/p>\n

This is the third assault focusing on a U.S. base this month in Iraq and Syria.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Several U.S. personnel had been injured in a suspected rocket assault on the Ain al-Asad air base in western Iraq final week, based on U.S. protection officers.<\/p>\n

A U.S. protection official confirmed the suspected rocket assault to Fresh News on Aug. 5 \u2014 based on Reuters, not less than two Katyusha rockets had been fired in the direction of the bottom.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fresh News, the official stated that “several” U.S. personnel had been injured in the course of the incident.<\/p>\n
