Since its violent revolutionary founding, the Islamic Republic of Iran has spread chaos around the world, attempted to assassinate Americans on our own soil and vowed to destroy Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East. America remains far stronger than Iran, yet a Kamala Harris presidency would empower this terrorist regime to do far worse.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Every American should be deeply concerned that Vice President Harris\u2019s weakness would\u00a0only\u00a0continue Joe Biden\u2019s policy of emboldening\u00a0and enriching\u00a0Iran.<\/p>\n For decades, Iran \u2014 directly and through proxies \u2014 has\u00a0committed and underwritten\u00a0terrorism\u00a0with the\u00a0explicit\u00a0goal of killing Americans and expelling us from the Middle East so\u00a0that the ayatollahs\u00a0can\u00a0dominate this vital region.<\/p>\n HARRIS MEETING WITH ANTI-ISRAEL ‘UNCOMMITTED’ MOVEMENT OPENS SPECULATION ABOUT ARMS EMBARGO<\/strong><\/p>\n The\u00a0ayatollahs\u00a0came to power\u00a0in 1979,\u00a0holding\u00a0more than\u00a050 Americans hostage for more than a year\u00a0during\u00a0the Carter\u00a0administration. (Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n The terror campaign continued against our troops in Iraq, which\u00a0I saw firsthand\u00a0as\u00a0Iranian-backed terrorists killed hundreds of\u00a0Americans.\u00a0Iran, by the\u00a0best\u00a0estimates, was responsible for\u00a0more than 600\u00a0American deaths in Iraq.<\/p>\n In contrast to the Obama\u00a0administration\u2019s\u00a0weakness, Iran\u00a0largely pulled in its horns during the Trump presidency for a simple reason \u2014 the ayatollahs once again\u00a0feared America.<\/p>\n Under\u00a0President\u00a0Donald Trump, Iran\u2019s economy\u00a0went\u00a0into\u00a0free fall, limiting its ability to fund its\u00a0shock troops\u00a0around\u00a0the world.\u00a0Afraid of American retaliation, Iran and its proxies\u00a0didn\u2019t carry out\u00a0major\u00a0terrorist attacks.\u00a0And the Iranian nuclear program was\u00a0mostly\u00a0contained after the U.S. removed itself from\u00a0Barack Obama and Joe Biden\u2019s\u00a0unenforceable\u00a0Iran deal.<\/p>\n Sadly \u2014 and dangerously \u2014 none of that is true today.<\/p>\n Thanks to\u00a0the\u00a0Biden-Harris\u00a0administration\u2019s refusal to enforce sanctions, Iran\u2019s economy has rebounded and\u00a0even\u00a0expanded. Iran\u2019s oil exports have more than quadrupled, giving it the\u00a0cash to fund attacks on\u00a0our troops\u00a0in the Middle East\u00a0and our allies,\u00a0as well as assassination plots against\u00a0Trump and others. The\u00a0Biden\u00a0administration\u00a0even\u00a0used U.S. taxpayer dollars to pay\u00a0ransom to\u00a0Tehran for wrongly detained prisoners.<\/p>\n Today,\u00a0Iran is not deterred, as\u00a0our military\u00a0commander\u00a0in the region\u00a0confirmed when I questioned him in a\u00a0congressional hearing in March.<\/p>\n The ayatollahs are killing American troops, and they\u2019re responsible for supporting Hamas\u2019s October 7 attack on Israel. They\u2019re funding their proxies across the Middle East; Iranian-backed militias in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan have attacked U.S. forces more than 175 times since October 7. (AP Photo\/Mike Stewart)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n As vice president, she has surrounded herself with pro-Iran advisors: her National Security Advisor Phil Gordon\u00a0is linked to a senior\u00a0Pentagon\u00a0official\u00a0reportedly involved in an Iranian influence operation.\u00a0At the same time,\u00a0she\u00a0has\u00a0tried to bully Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into accepting Hamas\u2019s ceasefire demands.<\/p>\n And if she becomes president,\u00a0Harris\u00a0would\u00a0kill American energy production, benefiting Iran\u00a0with\u00a0higher oil prices.<\/p>\n Harris\u2019s weak,\u00a0conciliatory\u00a0views towards the ayatollahs, combined with her catering to the pro-Hamas wing of the Democratic Party, would\u00a0gravely endanger\u00a0our national security and\u00a0undermine\u00a0the\u00a0confidence and\u00a0security of our allies.<\/p>\n For decades, Iran \u2014 directly and through proxies \u2014 has\u00a0committed and underwritten\u00a0terrorism\u00a0with the\u00a0explicit\u00a0goal of killing Americans and expelling us from the Middle East so\u00a0that the ayatollahs\u00a0can\u00a0dominate this vital region.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Instead, what America needs\u00a0is peace through strength \u2014 something Harris will not\u00a0and cannot\u00a0deliver.\u00a0What we need is a return of President Trump and his successful policies to the White House.,<\/p>\n He\u00a0killed\u00a0Qasem\u00a0Soleimani\u00a0and deterred further attacks by Iran.\u00a0That\u2019s the\u00a0strong,\u00a0decisive leadership\u00a0America needs:\u00a0instead of appeasing the ayatollahs,\u00a0Trump stood up to them.\u00a0It worked\u00a0once, and he can do it again.<\/p>\n READ MORE FROM SEN.
