A13-year-old lady with a extreme dairy allergy suffered an “immediate reaction” after a only one sip of a Costa Coffee sizzling chocolate that was purported to be made with soya milk, an inquest has been instructed.
Hannah Jacobs from Barking, east London, who had been allergic to dairy merchandise, died inside hours of sipping the drink on February 8 2022, East London Coroner’s Court heard.
Her mom Abimbola Duyile, who ordered the drink, stated her “anger gave way to terror” after her kid’s response to the drink.
The inquest is because of final six days.

In a press release to the inquest, Abimbola Duyile stated her daughter “could have achieved so much in this world”.
She stated: “I will always remember her as a happy child, I loved my child so much and my heart is broken.”
The mom and daughter visited the Costa Coffee department in Station Parade, Barking, which is owned and operated by a franchisee.
Ms Duyile ordered two takeaway soya sizzling sweets, earlier than taking Hannah to a dental appointment.

Ms Duyile recalled Hannah “abruptly got up and went to the toilet and shouted ‘that was not soya milk’. “
She stated Hannah’s response “happened quickly” and he or she was coughing up phlegm.
Ms Duyile then rushed Hannah, who was complaining of chest pains, to a close-by chemist as her “lips and mouth were very swollen and she was itchy”.
EpiPen injection
Hannah collapsed within the chemist and the pharmacist gave her an an EpiPen injection in her leg, the inquest heard.
Attempts to resuscitate her had been began and a buyer known as an ambulance. Paramedics quickly arrived and continued resuscitation efforts.
