Incumbent GOP Rep. Pete Stauber wins Minnesota Congressional District 8 main


Incumbent Republican Rep. Pete Stauber of Minnesota defeated his challenger Harry Welter and can face off towards the Democratic main winner in November’s election after securing a victory Tuesday evening for Minnesota’s eighth Congressional District.

Rep. Pete Stauber has served within the House of Representatives since January 2019, and is understood for his background in regulation enforcement and his concentrate on public security.

Before getting into politics, Stauber labored as a police officer in Duluth, Minnesota. His expertise in regulation enforcement has influenced his legislative priorities, together with his advocacy for stronger border safety and help for regulation enforcement companies. The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 endorsed Stauber final month.

Challenger Harry Welter, initially from Arkansas City, Kansas, now lives in Duluth, Minnesota and works in training. He earned his bachelor’s diploma in secondary training from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1973.

Welter turned energetic in politics whereas serving on the Duluth college board from 1996 to 2004. During his time on the board, he gained nationwide consideration when he used a voodoo doll to represent making an attempt to resolve conflicts amongst board members.
